* desirable for sharde and where little snow falls

* has more pitch than a flat roof
* requently used in additions


Mansard Roof:
* gaining popularity
* difficult to construct



Gambrel Roof:
* sometimes called a barn roof
* provides additional headroom



Butterfly roof:
* drainage is a problem
* plenty of ventilation


A-Frame Roof:
* walls and roof are the same
* applied to homes, churches and other structures


Folded Plate Roof:
* contemporary design
* popular for motels and small commercial bulidings


Curved Panel Roof:
*similar to folded plate
* limited use in home construction
