Cape Cod:
•Made of wood and covered in wide clapboard or shingles
•Large central chimney linked to fireplace in each room
•Symmetrical appearance with door in center



•odd, irregular shape
•lack of ornamentation
•tall, over-sized windows, some with trapezoid shapes


Generally has a stone or brick exterior with interesting accents.
Most often designed for large, two-story homes.
Sense of luxury inside and out.




• Generally has a wood or clapboard exterior finish.
• Roofs generally run parrallel with the main road.
• Most offer multiple fireplaces, large kitchens and living areas.



• Generaly one story but can be two
• simply made out of logs
• supposed to show simple living
